my (fake) wedding hair

Elegance hair bun by Easihair

I’m going to wear fake hair for my wedding. Why not? If we were having a larger wedding I’d pay for a stylist to give me an updo with temporary extensions tucked in, but since our wedding is so small I’m going to buy a fake bun. This makes me exceedingly happy because it’ll be a lot less stressful than hoping an unknown stylist in Vegas will be able to do something with my uncooperative hair. I’m planning on buying the bun above — Elegance by a company called Easihair. I found a beauty supply place nearby that can match my hair to one of the swatch colors and order it for me, which will be less hassle than ordering it online and hoping I’ve gotten the right color.

Below are some other styles that are sweet but not right for me since I could never even pretend like I sat still long enough to have something that intricate done.

And here is something I found interesting, powder and an applicator that will dull the shine on synthetic hair pieces.

The bobby pins that have been recommended for my fine hair are short Ricky’s N.Y.C. Hair Rubbers (currently unavailable on that page). They are coated in rubber and grip much better.

I’ve peeking into some of the beauty supply and wig stores in Seattle, including one near Pike Place Market, and the only bun pieces I’ve seen available are these braided chignons from Troika International. They are pretty but not quite what I’m looking for. Also check out the Wedding Hair page at Extensions.com.

I know this is random, but after reading notmartha for quite some time… I have decided that we have the same hair problems.

Paul Mitchell Extra Body Products (http://tinyurl.com/bk2r8u) have been a lifesaver the last few months! “Thicken Up” and their finishing sprays have made my hair woes go away!

    PS, congrats!

I wore a fake bun for my wedding as well. It looked so real my friends were shocked when I told them it was an imposter. Good luck!
