I was passing my local Mega Thirftstore today so I stopped in to see if they had wedding dress underthings as it would save a lot of time if I didn’t have to make my own petticoat. I found one that will be the perfect shape. All I have to do is cut off the top two feet or so (it was apparently made for a size zero woman who is seven feet tall) and make a new waistband. Goodwill for the win baby.

Congrats on the engagement… if you are planning on making/hacking your own dress, you might want to take a look at this Jason Wu hack of a prom dress - stumbled across via Wardrobe Refashion:

LOL Your size 2, 7 foot woman comment totally made me laugh out loud. lol Awesome find!
Sarah Jane - Love that.
Michele - It was amazing, I spent a lot of time thinking it might be a petticoat for an empire waist style but I’m afraid not, it’s just really, really long.
