I’ve always wanted a set of ring sizers, so I was happy to come across this plastic ring sizer set at Etsy. It’s sold by Colleen Baran, she even calibrated the sizers to her official equipment and included a sheet with any adjustments. And, if you buy any rings from her she’ll refund the cost. So nice! Do have a look at her jewelry, I found it originally on Mighty Goods. In particular this love letter ring called The Love Inside takes my breath away.

I’m a size 5, or 4.75 if I don’t want it to slip off. This was confirmed by the nice people at Green Lake Jewely Works here in Seattle (I can recommend a visit, they are very friendly).

Being married for 3 years myself, so therefore a longtime wearer of a permanent ring, if you haven’t already, I highly recommend sizing yourself at two different times a day… once in the morning, right when you wake up, and once in the late morning, before lunch. When I wake up is when I find that my ring is the tightest, and before lunch is when I find that my ring is the loosest.
Oh, I have a set of Colleen Baran rings that I adore! You can see them here: http://domicile.typepad.com/domicile/2007/06/such_a_lucky_gi.html
She’s so lovely too!
That’s such a great idea! Wanting to surprise me with my ring, my then-boyfriend swiped a ring out of my jewelry box while I wasn’t looking, traced it (yes, traced it), then used those cut-out strips they sometimes have in catalogs. Needless to say, ring needed to be re-sized.
Emira - I remember loving those when you first posted about them but I didn’t realize they were Colleen Baran, how cool.
Grumperina - I’m glad we ended up going the bubble gum machine route since I had no idea what my finger size was and would have spent a lot of money getting a ring made smaller.

I bet you’ll have fun playing with this too! I don’t think you’ll get a dress from it, but it’s fun!
That’s pretty awesome. I love Green Lake Jewelry Works too, my husband and I got our wedding rings there and they were absolutely wonderful to work with.
Thanks for the lovely post Megan! And your photos of them are marvelous!
