Black Diamond Solitare Engagement Ring, it’s quite nice, perhaps for Goths in love. Are black diamonds real things? Must look that up.

A few ring threads at Ask Metafilter pointed me towards Fay Cullen, purveyors of antique, estate and vintage jewelry. I’ve fallen quite hard for most of the stuff they offer, moreso than the majority of modern designs. I appreciate that they often include a picture of the ring on an actual hand.

Fancy’s Rose and Meat rings are hilarious, and even funnier in context together.

I really like greenKarat’s Binary Ring that allows you to include a personalized message up to 25 characters.

I saw a lot of polished and unpolished wood decorated band rings. The one above is ebony and stainless steel from Uncommon Goods.

The Large Circle Glass Earrings at Rare Device were tempting to wear as wedding earrings. As was the various glass bubble jewelry at the MoMA store. (I like the glass bubble jewelry so much I briefly considered finding a new dress to go with it.)

RE: black diamonds– indeed, they are diamonds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonado). Also tend to be cheaper cause they fail (well, on purpose) on two of the four ‘C’ scales– color & clarity. But apparently they are from very limited regions of the world, so finding a “conflict-free” black diamond might be a challenge… but I’m not sure.
Black diamonds are indeed real. I just got a black diamond eternity band for my ‘class ring,’ upon graduating law school. My school’s colors are black and gold, and I wanted something I could wear everyday, perhaps someday with a bridal set: http://www.mysolitaire.com/Jewelry/JewelryDetails/Template4.aspx?Item_ID=5325&iCat_id=263
It’s simple, but gorgeous. They’re great for low-key Awesome.
