(Previously: I’m planning on wearing a bun made of fake hair for my Vegas wedding. I ordered it online knowing the color wasn’t quite a match.)
Well, my Easihair Elegance fake hair bun arrived and it’s not, uh, what I was expecting. Instead of the tidy bun in the picture:

I got something that is more like a, well, a poof:

Or maybe a Tribble?

The ends are all loose and flop around. Does the first picture make you think that it would be like that? Me neither. If I wanted to make this a tidy bun I’d have to use a lot of pins, and not having to use a lot of pins was the whole point of buying a fake hair bun. And on top of that the color is not even close as a match, which I knew when I ordered it but I was picturing more red streaks instead of the overall auburn color. I had planned on highlighting my hair to make the bun blend a bit more but now that I don’t like the bun I’m unwilling to also get my hair colored.
Which puts me back at square one. I cannot return the bun (again, knew that when I ordered it) so I’m going to have to exchange it for hair I know will match, I’m color #6. With the store credit I have I could either buy one ponytail thing, and maybe clip it up into an updo-ish thing. Though, these are mounted on claw clips and I’m not sure how much trouble creating an updo would be from one of them:
option #1: one of these

Or I could get a Fun Bun (it’s just like a hair scrunchie but a bit bigger and fuller) that I know would match my hair really well but is a bit more chaotic than I’d like for wedding hair, and (with the rest of the store credit) a braided dome that I have not seen in person and cannot know how well it might match. I can hope that one or the other works, either would be less trouble than styling the ponytails above:
option #2: both of these

What do you think, which option should I go for? I only have time for one of those choices to reach me!
(And yes, I realize how silly fussing over fake hair is, and no I’m not terribly upset about it all.)
